SCENARIO #1:
Let's learn about AllSides.

TASKS:

  • Go to AllSides.com 
    • Find the FAQ section of the website.

SCENARIO #2:
Your friend has posted several articles from Breitbart on her Twitter account. You are curious about the bias (slant) of the news source. (Breitbart is a news media source.)

TASKS:

  • Go to AllSides.com and go to the MEDIA BIAS section. Click on "Media Bias Ratings"
    • Search for Breitbart.
      • What is the rating? 
      • Click on the rating (R or L). What does the rating indicate about the source?
      • Go back to the last page.
    • Click on the name Breitbart News.
      • Scroll down on this page. What is the "confidence level" of the bias rating?
      • What verification was used as the basis of the rating?

SCENARIO #3:
Now, you are interested in finding some articles providing other perspectives on the issues your friend is posting about.

TASKS:

  • Go to AllSides.com and go to the BALANCED NEWS section and select "Issues" in the menu.
    • Select a topic of your choice.
    • Scroll down to find the section where you can see various articles from different perspectives (L, C, R)
