Class Guide: Resources for Research

Finding Resumes

  • Find some names of professionals in the field for which you wish to view resumes.
    • Search Google for professionals in your chosen field. Try using keywords such as featured, prominent, acclaimed, top, honored and notable.
    • Use a ranking website, such as Ranker.com, to view lists of top names in various professional fields.
    • Look for lists of award-winning or honored professionals in your chosen field.
    • Go to an official website for a professional organization in the field. Example: I could go to the American Library Association's website or the Leslie J. Savage Library's website and find some names of librarians.
  • Search Google for these names.
    • Often, professionals will have a website with links to their resumes, vitaes, or professional information.
    • If the professional works for an academic institution or a large company, you can sometimes find vitaes and other professional information on the institution's or company's websites.
    • Synonyms for "resume": vita, curriculum vitae, work history, CV, professional background
