Your Leslie J. Savage Library provides access to the same resources and services to Western's remote learners and instructors that residential faculty and students enjoy. 

• One-on-One Assistance - we are available via phone, email, chat, Teams, and Zoom. Librarians are here to help with resource LMS integration, embedding content, open educational resources (OER), resource recommendations, research queries, and programmatic support.
• Information Literacy - Information literacy instruction enables students to use library resources more confidently and to think more critically about the sources they incorporate in their assignments. Please contact your liaison to schedule an instructional session - in-person or remote sessions available. 
• On-Demand Delivery - need a book, DVD, or other physical item from the library mailed to your out-of-town address? We can do that! Just return the item(s) via USPS by the due date. 
• Scan and Deliver - let us know which pages or images you would like scanned from our print collection, including journals. We'll scan them and send them to you. Please use the ILL form to submit requests.  *Faculty, please note that we no longer support the COVID accommodation of scanning textbook chapters for upload to Canvas courses.

Your Library provides access to a great many materials remotely. Here's how to get what you need: 

If you are attempting to access the library catalog (physical items and ebooks/e-audiobooks) to place a hold on an item or to access OverDrive ebooks, e-audiobooks, or magazines without success, it is likely that we just need to add you to our system. Chat with us or send an email to library@western.edu to start the process; it takes no time. (It’s a good idea to get your account set up regardless.)

If you are trying to access subscription databases:

• On-campus – your IP address should be recognized and shuttle you right in. Contact us if this is not the case.
• Off-campus – the system needs a little more help to recognize you as a Western employee. 

To access library databases and articles off-campus, faculty and students log in with their Western username and password - the same credentials used for Outlook and Canvas. Please contact IT Services with questions about your Western username and/or password. Your friendly library staff are happy to troubleshoot access issues with you; however, we cannot reset or edit your Western credentials.
