Citing AI Tools
BEFORE USING CHATGPT OR ANOTHER GENERATIVE AI TOOL… consult your course syllabus and your instructor to ensure that use of AI tools is allowed in your course. Unauthorized use of AI tools on course assignments could be considered a violation of academic integrity and have serious consequences for your grade.
If use of AI tools is permitted in your course, you are still required to correctly cite AI-generated text.
If your citation style has not published official guidance on how to correctly cite AI...
Contact your instructor to ask how they would prefer AI to be cited.
